I love the fact that you may be one of the few who doesn't just throw handfuls of salt at everything like what is so common with most cooking videos. And also the fact that you apply just enough seasoning, rub, or galze to add flavor to your food, not make so heavy as to overpower it. Good stuff, Johnny. Your food always looks great. Never overseasoned or overcomplicated. I've got to try this one for sure, It looks absolutely fantastic.

I just purchased a ZGrill and have been perusing all of the related channels to pick up all the cooking and recipe tips I can. Your video made things look easy to follow. I really like your idea of a backyard trim on a brisket. So many instructions are for competition trims and yours is very simple and easy to understand. I have been grilling for many years (I bought a Traeger in 2009) but have avoided briskets for fear of messing up. I got pork and chicken down so I guess it’s time to go for a brisket. Thanks for the encouragement.

What prompted you to change them…my kettle is 5 years old I think they still seem ok. Also, Weber must be too lazy to change their stamping machines to go to the new vent design on the bottom of the Master Touch models. I’m guessing you may have a kettle with the new vent design. Do you find it any harder to dial in low temps on the older oval a lot design vs. the P-vent design?

@@Viewtoagrill I saw that, I just thought they seized up due to junk dripping down. That’s happened to me a few times and I have had to unstick them. I then quickly regret not putting a drip tray under the indirect side 🙄

How much electric does this thing need to work? I have never owned a pellet grill. I'll have to plug it in to an outside outlet on my garage which is an older building (50s) and I've heard of these things setting the breaker off.

I tried this yesterday for dinner with friends. Fantastic! We followed each step and suggestion (organic chicken from Kroger, shake ingredients, prep, placing on a rack, etc.). Based on my time calculation from your video, it takes 1 hour, rotating after 30 minutes. The Weber app timer sounded and the Weber probe thermometer alerted at almost the exact same time! We're looking forward to additional recipes soon (especially the fajitas!)
